Missed Opportunities

You, the COO of my work. Me. First opportunity to really give you the elevator pitch of myself. You. What do you do? Me. I do what no one else wants to do. Stupid self deprecating instincts. Sigh.

So much to do…

Such a whirlwind of activity lately.  I recently got my time split between 2 roles but I didn’t get anything taken away from me.  With Ethan, it feels like 3 jobs.  Good news is, I’m staying much more busy and out of trouble.

Ethan’s about to roll over.  He’s laughing, smiling, and cooing.  He likes to be benchpressed and arm-curled.  I’m getting so much exercise with him. He’s also about to roll over.  Once he learns that, we’re in trouble.

Miss you much..

A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of traveling to San Diego for a work conference.  I left for the conference Monday night and came home on Thursday.  I must say that I wasn’t prepared for how much I would miss my family.  I don’t know why I was surprised.  Every daddy and mommy blog I read talked about how hard it was to be away and I won’t add to that crowd of voices by blogging about how much I wanted to bring him in my luggage.  How I wanted to fly my family out there with me so I can come home to the hotel with them.  Or how I wondered what the family was doing while I was holed up in the hotel room.

Don’t get me wrong, I saw some old friends and met their new additions and I learned a lot.  But I missed Ethan and Becca.  Does it ever get easier?

Laugh

Ethan responded to my voice a couple of days ago and laughed when I poked my head over his crib.  I was ecstatic.

50s and sunny

The days are getting longer and so is Ethan.  He still eats, sleeps, and poops a lot but he eats more, sleeps longer, and poops bigger.  He’s now 21 inches and probably well over 10 pounds.  We have taken a lot of pictures but have no time to upload them to this blog.  It is true what people say, Ethan makes us re-prioritize our time.  I watch less TV and want to work harder to succeed and make him proud of his daddy.

Work is busy, I have more responsibility so I have figure out how to prioritize what to accomplish each day.  The Franklin Planner course definitely helps me to organize them.

24 deg. Feels like 11

Good God it’s cold.  I’m layered up and trying to remember my cold training in the frozen tundra of Michigan.  I believe Korean is the best remedy for this weather.

High: 35 deg and sunny

It’s been awhile since I’ve said anything on this blog. I thought I should give an update. Miles is now just over 6 weeks old and we have not been able to get him to sleep through the night. He’s going about 3-4 hours between feedings and eats more than 5 oz each time. He’s a bit more fussy now because of the reflux.

He’s also cooing now which is so cute. He absolutely loves his room though. Becca, painted broad green stripes on the ceiling and I painted the ceiling fan blue-ish. He can’t stop looking at either.

I’m jealous of the sleep sheep though. He looks at that thing and smiles. He looks at me and headbutts me.
